I pay the health and wellness fee on my bill each year, how is health insurance different?

The health and wellness fee is a mandatory fee for full-time undergraduate students, law students registered for 12 credits or more, and graduate students registered for 9 credits or more as part of the cost of attendance.  This fee covers services and programs provided by the Health Services, Counseling Center, Student Assistance, and Health Promotion.

Health insurance helps to offset costs of services not covered by the health and wellness fee, such as lab fees and medications.  Insurance provides students with access to medical services beyond Health Services, including hospitalization, surgery, and special services.
